CLSI is proud to have been the lead civil engineer for the Union Bridge and New Windsor quarry operations of Lehigh Hanson of Heidelberg Cement Group. Most recently, beginning in 2007, CLSI began working on the conceptual layout of a 4.5 mile overland belt conveyor. The conveyor connects the New Windsor Quarry and the Union Bridge plant for limestone transportation. After reviewing multiple options, the belt conveyor proved to be the best and most community friendly option.
The existing recreational wet pond was expanded to handle stormwater management from the surrounding drainage area. The facility lies in a valley with streams on three of its four sides and receives approximately 250 acres of urban drainage.
Located in northern Frederick County just outside of Emmitsburg, Maryland, Mount Saint Mary’s University sits on 1,400 tree-lined acres. CLSI was contracted in 2012 to prepare plans for the expansion of student living space on campus. Plans were prepared and approved in 2013 when construction began almost immediately. The Cottages are the most recent addition to the campus. Each of the four cottages provides 10 single rooms with shared bathrooms, kitchen, and living areas.
